Subject: ECO interest in speaker?
To: trumaneco@gmail.com

Dr. Amber Johnson of the Anthropology department asked me to send an
email to ECO-ites to find out if there was any interest in meeting with
a Sigma Xi speaker who's coming to talk about climate change. I think
it looks pretty cool, here's the link:

There's a window from about 2-4 P.M. on Thursday, April 16, where people can meet with him (in the anthropology lab, or the SUB, or wherever is convenient) to discuss
and share ideas about the environment and environmental studies. Thanks a lot!

Community Living: The CAFO Co-op Experience
A presentation on community living at the Missouri Department of
Conservation

Thursday, April 9th at 7:00 P.M.
Missouri Department of Conservation Building, 3500 S. Baltimore

Abstract: "Last fall, eight Truman State University students united
under the roof of a single house in an effort to achieve a more
socially and environmentally sustainable way of life. We will share how
principles of consensus, community support, egalitarianism, and open
communication have been essential to maintaining a social well-being
within our dynamic cooperative living situation, and delve into the
practices and projects that have been part of our movement toward a
lower-impact lifestyle."

20 February 2009 - Street Team went to  Brashear Elementary!

Street Team went to Brashear Elementary and worked with k-5 children.  The children played a "Where Things Come
From" game, and learned about where items like glass, aluminum, and
electricity come from and go after being used.  The children also
painted glass bottles, turning them into decorations, vases, or
anything else they wanted.
