  Description

As chairs of the Education Committee, we are in charge of primary planning and delegation of tasks within the education committee.  Our goals are to educate both the Truman and the Kirksville communities.

Goals

"ECO's Did you Know?" fliers around campus that present an interesting conservation tip of the week/month

Plan for speakers to present a topic to both ECO and nonmembers with informal discussion sessions afterwards

Educate Kirksville elementary school children about two times each semester about ecological concepts and energy conservation

March 31st ECO PRESENTATION: Biology instructor Maureen McHale will

April TEACHING AT BRASHEAR ELEMENTARY: Street Team is helping out Alice Tipton with her Senior Capstone project for her Environmental Studies minor by teaching at Brashear elementary in April. Previous Events

On Oct. 6th, members of the Education Committee worked on and presented "Best Management Practices for the Homeowner" at the Kirksville Water Fest, held at the Missouri Department of Conservation.  If you are currently on a campus computer, click below to view the presentation!

Water Fest

On March 17th, members of Street Team presented information on waste disposal, the importance of local foods,  and where the presidential candidates stand on green issues.  They also sold recycled notebooks and face painted.
